As the project was located on a live power station site, additional precautions were required throughout the works. GMP deployed its SFA piling rig, which at 15m high rigged up falls outside the 12-metre clearance zone of the overhead power lines to eliminate the risk of electrical arcing. In addition, an earthing cable was installed at the rear of the piling rig as an extra safety measure.

Although the piling design itself was not particularly complex, the practical constraints of working within an operational power station presented several logistical challenges. Despite these site-specific difficulties, GMP successfully completed the project two days ahead of the allocated programme.
